April 2009
Dear Citizens of Bunceton,
This letter is to inform you of events and improvements that have been made to the city.
CITY IMPROVEMENTS
The water project has been completed. There were more fire hydrants added throughout the city. Gravel has been added to the alleys and city streets. Asphalt will be added soon to fill in potholes on the paved streets.
PARK
The City Park officially opened April 1st. There will be many improvements to the park this year. The park has horseshoes, basketball, and a playground. To reserve the park or help with different projects, contact Tony Maddox.
TRASH/LARGE ITEMS
If you need large items removed from your property, contact Cooper County Trash & Manufacturing at 427-5253. There will be a small fee to remove couches, refrigerators, mattresses, and more.
Place your trash out by the curb no earlier than Sunday evening. Trash should be bagged and placed in trash cans with lids. Lids prevent water gathering in the cans and helps keep scavengers out of the trash.
WATER BILLS/METERS
There have been many questions about water meters and water bills, so I want to take this time to explain how things work. If your water bill seems high for the month, check for running toilets or dripping faucets. These 2 events can cause a big change in your water bill. If there is a water leak on the city side this will not affect your water bill.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
The City Fire Department will be filling swimming pools again this year. Contact Fire Chief Wendell Cunningham at 427-5345.
Have a great summer!
